Unfortunately, there are many dishonest sellers who offer stolen, abused, or otherwise unauthorized Microsoft product keys for sale. If you bought a product key separate from the software, it’s very possible the product key was stolen or otherwise fraudulently obtained, and subsequently blocked for use. If your Office product key doesn’t work, or has stopped working, you should contact the seller and request a refund. The Product Key was not required for this. I followed the instructions and it did an on-line automatic download, which got Office working again. Much Googling and I found a Microsoft website to help. I assumed at the time that this was yet-another-Windows-update, that messed-up an existing working program. (This must be a 'phone home' activity running in the background.) On investigating, I found that all Office programs failed to run. I remember a problem recently when on starting Windows 10 Pro, an error panel popped-up, advising me of a problem with OneNote. Using the original Product Key today, and it's back working again. Installed the same day without any problems, until yesterday. It was purchased on 20th February 2020 on-line, with an e-mailed Microsoft download website and Product Key. I've bought from this company for a number of years without any previous problems. It would appear that this is what I've bought as a private person for a single computer licence. I knew about companies having a company wide licence, but did not know that it was called volume licencing. So if it is volume licensed, then - if it was previously activated in accordance with Microsoft conditions - for use on that computer - you should contact either the system administrator - if it is not your own personal computer OR the Unless I am mistaken, and if I am I apologise, this is a volume licensed version of Office 2019.
